The M🧸alaysian Moto2 𒐪Grand Prix has been red flagged on the opening lap after a massive multi-rider incident on the back straight.

Axel Pons fell - possibly after contact - as he accelerated on꧂to the straight. Following riders swerved to avoid the Spaniard's Kalex before it was hit 💮head-on by a rider at the back of the field.

Several further competitors were subsequently bro⛎ught down in 🍒the mayhem.

In total Zaqhwan Zaidi, Ezequiel Iturrio𒁃z, Decha Kraisart, Fadli Immammuddin and Pons were involved.

Pons walked away - with the arm of his leathers missing - and, miraculo🍃usly, all the riders involved have been "deemed ok".

Pons' team-mate Esteve Rabat had been leading the race, while title leader Scott Redding put in a storminꦜg start to carve h𝓡is way up the order from tenth to fourth.

The restart will be over twelve laps.
