F1: Hartley thankful for LMP1 preparation ahead of 'dream' F1 debut

Brendon Hartley feels ready to make his Formula 1 debut in this weekend's Unit🍨ed States Grand Prix thanks to the preparation offered by working in Porsche's LMP1 programme over the past four years.
Seven years after being dropped from Red Bull's junior driver roster, Hartley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replacement for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvy😼at.
Hartley has raced in sportscars with Porsche since 2014, winning ൩the FIA World Endurance Championship drivers' title in 2015 and this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the factory programme acting as a good grounding for the New Zealander.
"There’s a lot to learn in one 𒐪week, but I 🧔feel ready for it, honestly," at last weekend's 6 Hours of Fuji.
"This programme has taught me a lot. Working with guys like Mark [Webber], Timo [Bernhard], Earl [Bamber], i🌊n such a good project where we’re at the forefront of technology and part of development.
“I think I’ve got [a lot of that] as a driver. It’s going to be a busy weekඣ for me but I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s happened quite quickly. I 💫had quite a bit on my mind over the last week and especially at Petit Le Mans as well.
“It’s an amazing opportunity. It’s going to be a dream come true. I’ve thought about that moment since I was a little kid. I’m gla🅺d to represent the WEC. I’m looking forward to it.
“I’m goin🐎g to embrace it and most ꦰimportantly I’m going to try and enjoy it.”
