F1: Hartley thankful for LMP1 preparation ahead of 'dream' F1 debut

Seven years after being dropped from Red Bull's junior driv♌er roster, Hartley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replacement for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvyat.

Seven years after being dropped from Red Bull's junior driver roౠster, Hartley was named as Pierre Gasly's surprise replaceme🌼nt for the race in Austin alongside Daniil Kvyat.
Hartley has raced in sportscars with Por𒈔sche since 2014, winning the FIA World Endurance Championship drivers' title in 2015 and this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the factory programme acting as a good grounding for the New Zealander.
"There’s a lot to learn in one week, but I feel ready f🎀or it, honestly," at last weekend's 6 Hours of Fuji.
"This programme has taught me a lot. Working with guys like Mark [Webber], Timo [Bernhard], Earl [Bamber], in such a good project where wꦏe’re at the forefront of technology and part of development.
“I think I’ve got [a lot of that] as a dr🐠iver. It’s going to be a busy week for me but♏ I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s happened quite quickly. I had quite a bit on my mind over the last week and especially at Petit Le Mans as 𝓀well.
“It’s an amazing opportunity. It’s going to be a dreamܫ come true. I’ve thought about that moment since I was a little kid. I’m glad to representꦍ the WEC. I’m looking forward to it.
“🍷I’m going to embrace iﷺt and most importantly I’m going to try and enjoy it.”
