Alastair Seeley has won the 2011 Fuchs-Silk⛦olene British Supersport Championship after overhauling arch-rival Ben Wilson in the final race of a stunning season.

Gearlink Kawasaki's Wilson went into the race with a four-point margin over Seeley on the Relentless by TAS Suzuki, ensuring whoever won the race would se🌠al the title, but while a determined Wilson snatched the lead at the start, Seeley would get past on lap six and stretch away to the ch🌠equered flag.

With several incredibly close moments between the pair in the ea🐼rly stages, it was a representation of a season in whic♕h both Seeley and Wilson have been a class above the competition, indulging in some thrilling contests.

Indeed, Wilson led for much of the season after winning five of the first six races, but a strong mid to late season push from Seeley hauled him back into contention. However, it was Wilson's failure to score at the penultimate Silverstone round🍰 - the first time he hadn't scored all year - that threw the champion꧂ship back open, Seeley carrying a 14 point lead into the final round.

Even so, when Seeley crashed out of the lead in the first of three races at Brands Hatch, Wilson was back ahead, though the advantage would co💛me down to four points after race two when Seeley finished second and Wil🌞son was fourth.

With everything hinging on the final race, though Wilson signalled his intentions by placing his ZX-6R up the inside of the GSX-R600 - a 🐻new model for 2011 -, Seeley always looked like the faster of the pair.

Going on to win the race, with Wilson second, to win the title by just a solitary point, Seeley's victory for Relentless by TAS Suzuki comes after he won the 2009 National Superstock title and finished sixth in his maiden British Sup✨erbike season in 2010.

Both S🥀eeley and Wilson scored nine wins, with neither rider finishing lower than fifth in the ཧraces they finished. Billy McConnell finished third aboard the Oxford TAG Triumph.
