Romain Grosjean is hopeful of returning to Renault’s𝐆 Formula 1 team at some point in the future when he can fight for a world championship, but has called a 2018 comeback “premature”.

Grosjean made his F1 debut with Renault back in 2009 before returning to the Enstone operation - which had become Lotus - in 2012, remaining t🍌here until the end of the 2015 season.

Grosjean has since joined Haas and is set to remain with𓆏 the American team for a ൩third year in 2018, as confirmed by team owner Gene Haas last month.

“It was not such❀ a big surprise for me, I’ve known this since September 2015. So꧑ I would call it a normal continuation, and things are great,” .

“The team is doing well and I want to help it grow bigger. Of course, if one da🍌y there is the chance to be world champion, then great.”

Renault is known to be evaluating a number of drivers for a seat in 2018 alongside Nico Hulkenberg, with Grosjean linked given his histor𝓡y with the brand and the notion of a French driver representing a French team.


Grosjean denied having spoken with Renault about a 2018 seat, but did admit he would like to return to the team💙 some day.

“No, I haveඣn’t talked witꦚh Renault,” Grosjean said.

“Going back to Renault one day would be lovely, but it should be the time when we re꧃ally could be world champions together.

“That would be a superb situation, but ri💧ght now it is a bit premature.”
