For WPS Racing's Craig Baird the return to Phillip Island this weekend during the BigPond Grand🐲 Finale will mean a venture back to the circuit that provided him his maiden race victory in V8 Supercars൩.

That success in 𝓡2000 punctuated his entry into the elite of modern day Australasian touring c♋ar competition during his debut season in the Series.

Like any driver the chance to reliv🀅e past triumphs is one which it's hoped can inspire the New Zealander towards the ideal finish to the 2005 season.

"If you get the entire 🦹race package right at Phillip Island you can count on ✃gaining some really good results," declared Baird.

"But on the fli⛎psid⛦e if you get it totally wrong it makes it difficult to climb back.

"The ci𓆉rcuit will reward those who attack it at full speed but concentration is th🍒e key, one wrong move and you can end up in all sorts."

It's been a testing opening year for Baird at WPS Racing bu🌠t he's managed to hang tough and finds himself on the fringe of the top 20 💯in the Series.

As the crew continue to develop the most competitive race package possible, there's no doubt i💮t leaves he and team-mate David 🌃Besnard optimistic towards 2006.

"We've been finding a lot more genuine speed in the cars during the second half of the season and despite the disappointments of Tasmania a couple of week👍s ago, we're both very positive towards next season," added Besnard.

In the past two outings since their joint eighth placing at Bathurst, Baird and Besnard have been struck down by race incidents that have hamstrung the🌳 opportunity to ad📖d to their Championship points haul.

If anything that could very well provide the impetus to ensure success at Phil🥃lip Island and with another three race format both drivers have the p💙otential to elevate themselves up the leader board.
