WPS Racing eyes positive season finish.

For WPS Racing's Craig Baird the return to Phillip Island this weekend during th𓄧e BigPond Grand Finale will mean a venture back to thඣe circuit that provided him his maiden race victory in V8 Supercars.

That success in 2000 punctuated his entry into the 𝓰elite of modern day Australasian touring car competition during his debut season in the Series.

Like any driver the chance to relive past triumphs is one which it's hoped can inspire the New Zeala🐻nder towards the ideal finish to the 2005 season.

"If you get the entire race package right at Phillip Island you ca♊n count on gaining some really good results," declared Baird.

"Bᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚut on the flipside if you get it totally wrong it makes it difficult to climb back.

"The circuit will reward those ♏who attack it at full speed but concentration is the key, one wrong move and you can end up in all sorts."

It's be𒁏en a testing opening year for Baird at WPS Racing but he's managed to hang tough and finds himself on the fringe of the top 20 in the 🌱Series.

As the crew continue to 🦩develop the most competitive race package possible, there's no doubt it leaves he and team-mate David Besnard optimistic toward🤡s 2006.

"We've been finding a lot more genuine speed in the cars during the second half of tཧhe season and despite the disappointments of Tasmania💮 a couple of weeks ago, we're both very positive towards next season," added Besnard.

"This weekend at Phillip Island gives us one final chance to really thank the entire WPS Racing team who've worked tirelessly in 2005🌜.

"If we can get the mix ri🦋ght and remain true to our consistent short term goals I know we can finish the season on a high."

In the past two outings since their joint eighth placing at Bathurst, Baird and Besnard have been struck down by race incident💎s that have hamstrung the opportunity▨ to add to their Championship points haul.

If anything that could very well provide th🐲e impetus to ensure success at Phillip Island and with another three race format both drivers have the potential to elevate themselves up the leader board.
