Polestar Racing could see Volvo compete in the World Touring Carꦐ Championship for the first time in 2007 if plans to take part in selected 🌊rounds of the series come to fruition.

The team made the claim after unveiling their challe⛦nger for the 2007 Swedish Touring Car C𝔍hampionship, with the squad insisting it is their aim to take the S60 saloon to the WTCC, reviving memories of the Prodrive-run Volvo effort in the 2003 European Touring Car Championship.

Furthermore, should plans come to fruition, the team could potentially be on the cusp of history should they appear with the bio-ethanol run car. Indeed, it is the first time an S2000 specification can has been converted to use b🍰io-ethanol fuel and should Polestar appear at some point in 2007, they will become the first team to take it to the global stage.

"Environment is a Volvo core value, and our motor sport history shows that we have always been on po🀅le position in terms of environmental development. Among other things, Volvo was the first marque to use a catalytic converter in the British Touring Car Cha♑mpionship in 1994," said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, director of motor sport at Volvo Cars Sweden.
