Having produced their first ever double points fini♑sh at the Nur🌃burgring, Trident Racing are setting themselves lofty aspirations for the coming GP2 Series round at the Hungaroring, with a win very much the aim.

With both Pastor Maldonado and Kohei Hirate featuring in the points in both races at the German circuit, Trident have moved up to fifth in the teams' standings, while Maldonado is now the highest placed rookie in൩ the driver standings in fifth also.

However, while Trident have persevered with rooki🦹esꩵ all season in what is the team's sophomore year, team principal Alessandro Alunni Bravi is confident the Hungaroring will not pose too much of a learning curve for Maldonado and Hirate.

Indeed, Hirate has tested there in a Formula Renault car this year, while Maldonado won the Euroseries 3000 race from pole position in ✤June after making a one-off appearance to prepare for the race.

"As we're approaching the second and final part of the season, there's no use in hiding our expect🌄ations. We're moving towards Hungary with very clear targets: trying to win r😼ace 1 with Pastor Maldonado, and confirm the great performances seen at the Nurburgring with Kohei Hirate.

"It may appear an ambitious goal, but we're confident we'll complete a successful weekend. Maldonado raced at the Hungaroring in June, winning his debut race in the Euroseries 3000 from the pole on an unknown track. He's shown a great feeling with his car on this type of trac🔜k, and an incredible ability to adaptꦏ.

"Kohei, who is called to confirm his remarkable state of form, tested the track in advance too by taking many laps in a Formula Renault 2.0; that will eliminate a possible handicap in the upcoming weekend. The Hungaroring won't probably suit him too much, but we're counting on his enthusiasm. Having a 🥀good qualifying will be crucial, as well as finding the best stratꦬegy; the heat will add another concern, pushing tires to their limits."
