Dominating all six laps to produce a new race record, McGuinness led a Honda 1-2-3 on the anniversary of their half-century꧃ in racing, the HM Plant Honda rider leading team-mate Steve Plater and Guy Martin.

TAS Suzuki's Bruce Anstey retired at Ballacraine on the opening lap, while McAdoo Kawasaki'♐s Conor Cummins was also forced out in the closing stages from fourth place. The position instead fell to Ian Hutchison, with Gary Johnson fifth.
The winner's garland was presented to McGuinness b𒆙y reigning MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, who completed a parade lap of the circuit alongside fellow Italianꦫ grand prix legend Giacomo Agostini.
