Go Eleven Kawasaki ri✃der Andrea Antonelli has been killed in an accident on the opening lap 🦄of the World Supersport Championship race at the Moscow Raceway.

The Italian fell on the long back straight of the Russian circuit in🦩 treacherously rainy weather condition🍸s and was struck by the unsighted Lorenzo Zanetti in the spray.

Immediately tended to by medical staff at thꦰe circuit, it has been confirmed that Antonelli sadly succumbed to his injuries.

"During today's FIM World Supersport race, at 1.32pm Italian rider Andrea Antonelli (Team Goeleven Kawasaki) suffe♍red a serious accident on the straight between Turn 14 and Turn 15 wherein he sustained critical injuries.

"The racꦇe was stopped with the red flag and the rider was immediately taken to an amb꧒ulance where the medical staff worked to resuscitate him.

"Despite t♔heir efforts, Andrea sadly succumbed to his injuries at 2.10pm local time.

"FIM, Dorna and YMS Promotion decid🌠ed to cancel all activities scheduled for the rest of t🌱he day.

"Everyone involved in motorcy꧅cle championships extends its deepest cond✤olences to Andrea's family, friends, team and Italian Federation at this tragic loss."
