Go Eleven Kawasaki rider Andrea Antonelli has been killed in an accident on the opening lap of the World Supersport Champi💟onship race at the Moscow Raceway.

The Italian fell on the long back straight of the Russian circuit in treacherously rainy weather condiꦓtions and was struck bﷺy the unsighted Lorenzo Zanetti in the spray.

Immediately tended to by medical staff at th🌟e circuit, it has bꦫeen confirmed that Antonelli sadly succumbed to his injuries.

🎉"During today's FIM World Supersport race, at 1.32pm Italian rider Andrea Antonelli (Team Goeleven Kawasaki) suffered a serious accident on the straight between Turn 14 and Turn 15 wherei🀅n he sustained critical injuries.

"The race was stopped with the red flag and the rider was immediately taken to an ambulance where the medicꦆal staff worked t𝔉o resuscitate him.

"Despite their efforts, Andrea sadly succumbed to his injurieཧs at 2.10pm local time.

"FIM, Dorna and YMS Promotio𝐆n decided to cancel all activities scheduled for the rest of the day.

"Everyone involved in motorcycle championships ext🌜ends its deepest condolences to Andrea's family, friends, team and꧂ Italian Federation at this tragic loss."
