Felipe Nasr admits his dramatic accid💟ent during final free practice for the Canadian Grand Prix was his fಌault after catching the DRS button whilst warming his tyres.

The Brazilian was attempting to get heat into the rubber ไprior to starting a fast lap down the back straight, onꦏly to spear off suddenly nose first into the wall.

Reflecting on the incident, which left the Sauber with significant damage, Nasr held up his hands 👍to fault by saying he simply c𓆉aught the button accidentally.

"I think it was a combination of things, but at th൲e same time it was simple," he said. "I was trying to bring my tyres up to temperature because I had just completed a run on them. When I went to the back straight the wind was a lot stronger today and when I was doing the weaving, somehow I pressed the DRS and that caught me by surprise.

"It is simple. There is nothing I could have done because it happened so quickly. The team did a fantastic job to put the car together. We had no issues on the chassis so looking at the big picture, the result in qualifyi♓ng is still pretty good.

Tho♔ugh he was largely unhurt in the smash, save for a sore neck, Nasr was able to get out for qualifying and proceeded to qualify 15th, where he is looking to pote🦩ntially challenge for points.

𝓀"Looking back at the races with a long straight, it🅰 was a benefit for us. I am hoping we can use that as an advantage tomorrow. We are in a good position to fight for a few places in front, so we have to manage everything to make sure we get on the right strategy."
