P♔orsche and Nissan have become the latest manufacturers to commit to🗹 Formula E’s new Gen3 regulations.

They join fellow automob༒ile manufacturers Mahindra and DS Autoܫmobiles in backing Formula E’s new rules, set for the 2022/23 campaign.

♔The new regulations will see the re-introduction of pit stops to allow for mid-race rapid charging of up 𝐆to 600kW.

Other proposed changes include the increase of car power to 350kW, while the regenerative braking capacity will be up๊ from 250kW per lap to 600𓆉kW.

Porsche joined the Formula E grid for the 🦂2019/20 season, scoring a podium in its first race with André Lotterer in Diriyah.

Speaking of the announcement, Fritz Enzinger, Porsche Motorsport’s Vice President, said:  “The new racingꦰ car generation Gen3 opens the next chapter in the success story of Formula E. And we want to be part of it.

“With our entry in 2019, we made a clear commitment to Formula E. From our point of view, it offers the most competitive environment to advance the development of high-performance vehicles with a focus on eco-friendliness, energy efficiency and sustainability. The previous season confirmed thi🐽s, despite the raft of pandemic-related restrictions. The successes in our debut season with two podiums and a pole position are just the beginning.

“It was important for us that the DNA of Formula E, which has made the championship so successful, was preserved. That’s happened. At the same time, we see potential to take For🅠mula E to the next level from a sporting and technological point of view. So we regard it as an interesting challenge to actively shape the successful future of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and thereby to give electric mobility another boost on a global level. We look forward to the new Formula E era.♏”

Earlier in the week, Nissan also confirmed its commitment to𒈔 the all-electric series until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Nissan teamed up with e.dams for the 20ဣ18/19 season onwards.

“We’ve achieved great results during our first two seasons aﷺnd renewing our long-term commitment to Formula E ﷽is a key step,” Tommaso Volpe, Nissan’s Global Motorsport Director, said.

“We entered the sport with a 'road-to-track' technical transfer approach, and by extendinﷺg our racing program through the Gen3 era, we have the opportunity to close the circle with 'track-to-road' technical transfer.

"We believe that, as one of the most global manufacturers involv🧸ed in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, this sport is the perfect platform to promote our expertise in electrification and demonstrate our commitment to more sustainable mobility solutions.”
