Porsche and Nissan have become the latest manufacturers to commit to Formu🏅la E’s new Gen3 regulations.

They join fellow automobile♊ manufacturers Mahindra and DS Automobiles in b🐈acking Formula E’s new rules, set for the 2022/23 campaign.

The new regulations will see the re-introduction of pꦅit stops to allow for mid-race rap🐲id charging of up to 600kW.

Other proposed c🍎hanges include the increase of car power to 350kW, while the regenerative braking capacity will be up from 25🅘0kW per lap to 600kW.

Porsche joined the Formula E ▨grid for the 2019/20 season, scoring a podium in its first race with André𒁃 Lotterer in Diriyah.

Speaking of the announcement, Fritz Enzinger, Porsche Motorsport’s Vice President, 💛said:  “The new racing car generation Gen3 opens the next chapt🌃er in the success story of Formula E. And we want to be part of it.

“With our entry in 2019, we made a clear commitment to Formula E. The previous season confirmed this, despite the raft of🔯 pandemic-related restrictions. The successes in our debut season with two podiums and a pole position are just the beginning.

“It was important for us that the DNA of Formula E, which has made the championship so successful, was preserved. That’s happened. At the same time, we see potential to take Formula E to the next level from a sporting and technological point of view. So we regard it as a🌱n interesting challenge to actively shape the successful future of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and thereby to give electric mobility another boost on a global level. We look forward to the new Formula E era.”

Earlier in the week, Nissan also confirmed its commitment to th♕e all-electric series until the end of the 202👍5/26 season.

Nissan teamed up with e.dams for the 2018/19 seaso𝔍n on🦂wards.
