Assen moved to July on updated 2021 World Superbike calendar
Dorna has announced that the Dutch round of the 2021 World Superbike Championship, scheduled for Assen in April, has been postponed until July 🍌23-25.
The date change has been required due to the latest Covid-19 restrictions, with local author💮ities determining 'no major events may be held in Drenthe until the 1st of June 2021'.
Assen - which was one of seven WorldSBK events cancelled due to Covid last season - t🅠hus slots in as round five on the provisional 2021 calendar, just befor♒e the summer break.

Assen - which was one of seven WorldSBK events cancelled due to Covid last season - thus slots in as round five o💮n the provisional 2021 calendar, just before the summer break.
'FIM and Dorna WSBK Organisation are constantly working with Government Officials and Circuits in order to continue putting the safety of everyone first. Any further updates to the 2021 Wo🌟rldSBK calendar will be communicated accordingly,' said a state༒ment accompanying the Assen move.
The new season is due to start at Estoril in early May and conclude with Indonesia in mi༺d-November, although it remains to be seen if any of the non-European rounds will be possible this year due to Covid restrictions.
The new Mandalika circuit also remains 'Subject to Homologation', while𝓡 Phillip Island (which was the only non-European round of 2020, taking place before Covid restrictions) is currently 'Subject to Contract' and lacking a date.
One place on ﷽the provisional 2021 caꦓlendar remains reserved for a 'To Be Announced' event.
The World Supersport Championship is 🌠due to attend all of the rounds listed with the exception of Donington Park.𝔍 The WorldSSP300 class is pencilled in for all European events, also with the exception of the UK.
An official pre-season test will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona on Mꩲarch 29-30 for WorldSSP and WorldSSP300, before WorldSBK takes over at the Spanish track on March 31-April 1.
