Franz Wittmann has confirmed today that he has had t꧙o abort plans to competಞe on the Rallye Monte Carlo.

The 𝄹27-year-old had been hoping to return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2011 and was due to compete in January in the opening event of the season in a Peugeot 207 Super 2000. However yesterday he learned that Interwetten, his main sponsor, was pullin🧜g the plug on its involvement.

"We had a meeting with the people at Interw⭕etten to sort things out. Unfortunately though, I was told that they plan to set different marketing activities next year for business policy reasons," Wittmann said.

"I am nevertheless extremely grateful to Interwetten, and especially Wolfgang Fabian, for the support over the last two years. This co-operation enabled me ꦡto perform in rallying at the highest level and thereby introdu🐻ce myself internationally.

"[However] this cancellation [now] creates a budget hole that is too large to be filled without a main sponsor. From this moment on I will naturally tr🔯y to find some partners ꦡwho can help me to successfully continue my rally career in some form," he added.
