The re🌃turn of the Indonesian MotoGP, pencilled-in for the early stages of the 2022 season at the new Mandalika circuit, could also mark the first non-European event for the MotoE class.

The electric b🙈ike series, which made its debut in 2019, currently supports the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 world championsಞhips at around half of the European rounds, but is yet to venture overseas.

"We've had discussions with Dorna about MotoE," revealed Ricky Baheramsjah, CEO of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association. "It's a fantastic series and could potentially also pave the way forღ the future of motorsport.

"MotoE is ♏not yet in South East Asia but we have an open dialogue with Dorna. It's certainly an event that would be very interesting for us to bring."

Currently under construction, Mandalika is due to host its first major event in the f💙orm of a World Superbike round in mid-November. MotoGP is then due to make its debut with an official pre-season test on February 11-13, ahea♔d of the March race weekend.

Much to the disappointment of many Indonesian fans, the postponement of the inaugural Mandalika MotoGP event until 2022 also means that, barring a 'miracle', the soon-to-retir𝔉e Valentino Rossi won't be on the grid.

However, Baheramsjah hopes that the nine-time world champ꧂ion might come and try the track.

“Firstly, I💝 wish Valentino Rossi all the best in his retirement. The whole country is extremely sad he announces his retirement just b𒁃efore the event in Mandalika," Baheramsjah said.

"But at the end of the day, he’s a legend. 🌠He's served Dorna and MotoGP so well, he is huge ambass♎ador.

"Of course, we would love to have him in the circuit, even if he could just come and 𝓰test and give us his opinion. We would welcome him with an op🅺en arms.

“Who knows, miracles cꩲan happens, maybe he comes oཧut of retirement just for Mandalika!

"We wish him all the best. But again, our door will always be open for him if he would 🅺like to just come and test some time."
