Ricciardo was due to drive on the opening day of testing in Sakhir but 𓆉was ruled out after McLaren revealed that he was feeling unwell.

The Australian was unable to drive again on🍸𒐪 Friday meaning Lando Norris was in action on the opening two days.

McLaren confirmed on 🐓Friday that Ricciardo's condition was improving, and his COVID-19 tests were coming back negative.

However, o🦩n Friday night, the team released a st🌃atement stating that Ricciardo has tested positive and will not be able to drive for the team on Saturday.

The good news for Ricciardo is t🐭hat under Bahrain's quarantine rules, should he recover, he will be able to compete in the season-opening grand prix at Sakhir.

“McLaren Racing can confirm t💞hat after feeling unwell from Wednesday onwards in Bahrain, Daniel Ricciardo has now returned a positive PCR test for COVID-19,” the𒁃 statement read.

“Daniel is therefℱore continuing to isolate in accordance with local regulations. Under these regulations Daniel will be released in time for next weekend’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

“Daniel is already beginning to feel better, and we wi🀅sh him well for a quick recovery.

“Followin♔g this, we can c🙈onfirm that Lando Norris will remain in the MCL36 for the final day of the official pre-season test in Bahrain tomorrow.”
