Formula E returns with the season-opener taking place under the lights in D🌳iriyah.

The seaꦉson opens with a double-header in Saudi Arab♉ia with the all-electric series entering its eighth season - its final before the ‘Gen3’ era.

While the cars have mostly stayed the same for 20𒆙22, the biggest change is the qualifying format.

Group qualifying - the previous format - was criticised for being too disadvantageous for💝 the title contenders given they were forced to qualify in group one and thus have the worst of the 🍨track conditions.

Instead, Formula E has implemented a complex, knock-out s𝓡tyle qualifying format.

Reigning world champions Merce🍃des retains its pairing of 2021 Formula E champion Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne.

Oliver Rowland has switched to Nissan from Mahindra, while Lucas di Grassi is a𒅌t Venturi following Audi’s exit.

Former F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi make✤s his debut in the series with Dragon, as does Dan Ticktum 🔯at NIO 333.
