Following an earlier red flag for a first corner incident involving Nacho Calero, Federico Ca🐼lero and Maximillen Bau, the Magny-Cours race was shorteneꦛd to 12 laps but the event was over at the end of Lap 1 for Krummenacher as he high-sided off.
That gave Bardahl Evan Br🌱os🥃 Yamaha team-mate Caricasulo a golden opportunity to take the World Supersport championship lead and the Italian duly set about maximising his advantage by storming into an early lead.
But Caricasulo wrecked his own chances by crashing at Turn 13 on Lap 4, 🧔before remounting only to crash two laps later at Turn 3 to end his charge.
His off💦 opened up the fight for victory between Mahias, Ayrton Badovini, Isaac Vinales and Jules Cluzel and Raffele De Rosa.
At the start of the final lap Mahias and Vinales bolted clear of the chasing pack to set up a showdown for victory, with the Puccetti Kawasaki r♍ider diving up the inside at Turn 13 to block the Spaniard for the lead and take his first win since last year’s Qatar round.
With Vinales having to settle for second place🌳 it still marks his best result ♌of the season for Kallio Racing Yamaha, while further back Badovini claimed the final podium spot on the Pedercini Kawasaki having seen off MV Agusta’s De Rosa.
Hikari Okubo surged up to fifth place late on for Puccetti, with Jules Cluzel keeping his title hopes alive in sixth pဣlace for GMT94 Yamaha closing to 38 points behind Krummenacher in the standings.
With Corentin Perolari in𒀰 seventh place forဣ GMT94 Yamaha, Thomas Gradinger (Kallio Racing Yamaha), Kyle Smith (Pedercini Kawasaki) and Peter Sebestyn (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) rounded out the top 10.
