Reigning Bennetts British Superbike champion Leon Haslam has ღstarted his cro𒁃wning day with victory in the wet race two at Brands Hatch – his first victory on the Grand Prix track for JG Speedfit Kawasaki.
Having clinched the 2018 BSB title in Saturday’s race one, Haslam completed his final target for the year by winning at Brands Hatch 🐲GP after seeing a top step triumph at the iconic track allude him with the Kawasaki squad.
In a ༺hectic wet race with only 14 finishers, Haslam was involved in a race-long battle with multiple riders for the lead but managed to stage a breakaway with two laps remaining to gap both Tommy Bridewell and Jason O’Hallor💝an.
Bridewell fended off the Australian rider for his first podium since Oulton Park for Moto Rapido Ducati while O’Hallorꦇan’s third place capped his first rostrum since May at the Brands Hatch Indy round for Honda.
✅Richard Cooper claimed fourth place for Buildbase Suzuki following a number of fallers ahead of him including Jake Dixon (RAF Regular & Reserve Kawasaki), Andrew Irwin (Be Wiser Ducati) and James Ellison (Anvil Hire Yamaha) as riders struggled in the wet and slipper⛦y conditions.
Christian Iddon, who battled in the front-running pack for the𓂃 majority of the race, faded late on struggling with his collarbone injury but held on for fifth place on the Tyco BMW.
Peter Hickman grabbed sixth place for Smith😼s Racing BMW comfortab🅘ly ahead of Glenn Irwin on the Be Wiser Ducati and Buildbase Suzuki’s Bradley Ray.
McAMS Yamaha’s Josh Brookes had to settle for ninth following a late-race fade as Josh Elliott impressed for OMG Racing Suzuki in 10th.
Luke Mossey held on for 11th place for JG Speedfit Kawasaki as M♉ason Law (Team WD-40 Kawasaki), Shaun Winfi💟eld (Anvil Hire Yamaha) and Aaron Zanotti (Team 64 Kawasaki) rounded out the finishers.
