The Swift chassis is expected to return to the C🔴ART championship next weekend in the hands of Brazilian Ta꧒rso Marques.

The Californian constructor has done a deal w⛎ith Dale Coyne's eponymous outfit to run at the Motegi oval in Japan, having cancelled its contract with Gerry Forsythe's Championship Racing team before Long Beach. The car will run in Panasonic colours as originally agreed with Forsythe, but will now have sometime CART driver Marques behind the wheel rather than the intended Bryan Herta.

The car will run in Pa🥂nasonic colours as originally agreed with Forsythe, but will now have sometime CART driver Marques behind the wheel rather than the intended Bryan Herta.

The car has yet to be shaken down, and has had t❀o be fitted with a Ford XF powerplant rather than the Honda it was designed to accept, but both parties are confident that it can be a compeꦕtitive proposition - something that Forsythe doubted.

Marques will be ten𝓡ded by a crew from the Swift factory, and lines up alongside Coyne regulars Gualter Salles and Takuya Kurosawa for next Saturday's race.
