James Toseland wants an ꦗend to the 'playground' feud with team-mate Colin Edwards, which has literally divided the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in two heading into the 2009 MotoGP season.

The pair of double World Superbike champions enjoyed an excellent relatio💖nship last year, but Edwards hasn't spoken to the Englishman since it was announced that his crew chief Garry Reynders was switching to Toseland's side of the garage for 2009.

A furious Edwards promptly te𓄧amed up with Toseland's former crew chief Guy Coulon, and has repeatedly expressed his delight at outpacing the #52 in winter testing.

Any hopes that Edwards might soften h💫is stance were extinguished at last weekend's Jerez test, when it was revealed that the Tech 3 pits will be divided by a wall th꧒is season, as already happens (for competitive reasons) at Fiat Yamaha.

"It didn't have to happen like this and I can imagine why he feels the way he does," Toseland told BBC Sport. "We just need to sit in a room and tal꧙k about the situation, but he's 🔯got a wall in the garage like he wanted."

Toseland confirmed that 'communication problems' were the main reason for requesting a change of crew♈ chief.

"I had a communication problem with [Coulon] a🧔nd thought another year of that and I could find myself without a GP ride," he said. "I've no problem with his ability as an engineer - it was about communication.

"He didn't speak English that well and with my Yorkshire slang, I think that made things difficult too," said Toseland. "I needed someone experieཧnced who understood me to help me get where♔ I wanted and to punch my weight."

The 28-year-old revealed th🌳at he spoke to team manager Herve Poncharal about his concerns as early as round three and, when the situation failed to improve, 🔯Toseland says that Poncharal indicated a swap was possible.

Toseland doesn't regret the decision to swap crew chiefs, but feels Edwards shou𝄹ld have been notified at a far earlier stage.

"The only problem🐟 was that there was no communication ꧒going back to Colin, so all of a sudden he's told by Garry," confessed Toseland.

"In all ✤the press you can see how it looks - we're not talking to each other.

"I've got a slating off a lot of people and I've taken it all on the chin. It's playground stuff now and it didn't need to get to this," he adde⭕d.

Toseland has suffered two huge accidents while adapting to Bridgestone tyres during pr🎉e-season testing, while Edwards heads into the new season with a series of highly imp💯ressive performances under his belt.
