Rome and Valencia to become double headers in latest Formula E calendar changes

The ABB🐈 FIA Formula E World Championship has confirmed the latest changes to the series 2021 calendar relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Both the Rome E-Prix and the Valencia E-Pr🐼ix will be changed to double header events next month, mirroring the season-opening Diriyah E-Prix at the e🉐nd of February.
Rome will now host Round 3 and 4 ofꦬ the campaign on 10-11 April at the revised Circuito Cittadino dell’EUR circuit, while Valenica will stage its first-ever Formula E races across 24-25 April.
The scheduled For𒅌mula E rookie test, which was originally planned to take place on Sunday 25 April at the Circuit Ricardಞo Tormo, will no longer go ahead as a direct result of the changes to the calendar.
The April double-headers are the only calendar revisions t🐲hat have been confirmed by Formula E, but the series said it will issue an update on the rest of the sea꧒son shortly.
Formula E said it “will continu🍨e to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and is in c🌄onstant communication with its community of teams, manufacturers, partners, broadcasters and host cities.
“All calen𓆉dar updates depend on tra🐻vel restrictions, as well as local government protocols and are subject to approval of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.”
Formulꦦa E has already had to make a number of major changes to its troubled 2021 calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the planned season-opener in Santiago to be delayed until June, as well as the indefinite postponement of races in Mexico and Sanya.
