Verstappen hails “dominant” Red Bull after “pretty insane” Austrian GP F1 win

Verstappen dominated again at the Red Bull Ring, finishing nearly 18s clear of Mercede𒉰s’ Valtteri Bottas in second.
The Dutchman was running 27s clear of the Finn before making a late second stop to secure the fastest lap and the additi🌞onal championship point that comes with it.
Verstappen’s fourth victory at the Red Bull Ring was in front of a full ꦜ132,000 cওapacity crowd, many of which were Dutch and fans of the 23-year-old.
“Incredible to be h💞onest,” Verstappen said. “The car was on rails. I mean on every tyr❀e set that we put on, it was really enjoyable to drive. Pretty insane. I'm a bit amazed myself how today went. I didn't expect it to be like this.
“Yeah, incredible job by everyone to deliver something like this. Of course, ✤when you go into the weekend everyone sees you as the favourite but it's never easy to always deliver what we did today. So, yeah, a great effort by the whole team and also by Honda. I think the whole package, these two weeks, especially here, has been incredible.”
When asked if he experienced any dramas along the way to ♈his 15th career victory, he added: “Not really. You have to take care. I had a few times, a few cars in front of me fighting each other so you do🐻n’t want to get involved in that.”
Verstappen admitted that he’s enjoying his current run in F1 but isn’t getting carried away despite building a 32-point lead over Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ champi𝔉onship.
“I am enjoying it but I am also very focused on th﷽e rest of the season,” Verstappen added. “It’s still so long, and still a lot of points that you need to score. We need to make sure every single weekend that we are back up there and make sure we basically use the whole potential of the car.
“We had a good ca🔴r here in Austria especially. I think it was very dominant but we need to make sure at Silverstone we’re there again and that’s what we will look into now again to make sure we are very competitive there again.”
