T♎he FIA has confirmed Carlos Sainz and Romain Grosjean will take fresh Formula 1 power units for the remaindꦜer of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend.

McLaren has decided to give Sainz a new power unit as it is still at a loss to what is causing the cooling issues which have plagued the Spaniard’s car since las𝔉t weekend’s 70th Anniversary Grand Prix.

His race at Silver𝔉stone last weekend was severely compromised by his car over-heating, which meant McLaren had opened up the cooling on his car - negatively impacting the aerodynamic performance and thus costing him cruci🦋al lap time.

McLaren has opted to fit a fresh internal combustion engine (ICE)𝓡, turbocharger, MGU-H and MGU-K before 🎶final practice in Spain.

The Spaniard will not 🌳be hit with a penalty as it is the first time he has changed any of these parts 🏅this season.

Sainz enjoꩵyed a strong outing in final practice, ending the session in fourth place.

Grosjean suffered an engine issue in the closing stages of FP2 which has forced Haas to give the Frenchman a new ICE, turbocharger, MGU-H and control𝕴 electronics.

Haas was forced to break the curfew after it encountered a leak when♔𝔉 replacing the engine - using one of their two ‘jokers’ it has to use this season.

Like Sainz, Grosjean will also not be hit with a🐽 grid penalty🃏 for the same aforementioned reason.

Grosjean was unable tꦓo maintain his strong pace from Friday practice in Saturday’s morning session, ending FP3 down in 13th - 1.4s down on pace-setter Lewis Hamilton.

Qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix gets underway at 1500 local time / 1400 BST on Saไturday afternoon.
