Lewis Hamilton, Marc Marquez nominated for Laureus Awards

Le♔wis Hamilton and Marc Marquez have both been nominated for the Sportsman of the Year award at the annual Laureus Sports Awards.

Hamilton and Marquez both won their sixth world championship titles in Formula 1🎉 and MotoGP respectively in 2019, racing for Mercedes and Rep❀sol Honda.

Their success has resulted in their nomination for ꦓthe Laureus Awards, which will take place on February 17 in Berlin.

Lewis Hamiltꦫon and Marc Marquez have both been nominated for the Sportsman of the Year award at the annual Laureus Sports Awards.

Hamilton and Marquez both won their sixth world championship titles in Formula 1 and MotoGP respectively in 2019, racing for Mercᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚedes and Repsol Honda.

Their success has resulted in their nomina🉐tion for the Laureus Awards, which will take place on February 17 in Berlin.

Hamilton and Marquez 🍃are up for the Sportsman of the Year award alongside footballer Lionel Messi, golf’s Tiger Woods, tennis playꦿer Rafael Nadal and long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge.

It marks Hamilton’s sixth nomination for the award, but he has lost in each of the five pre🍒viꦗous years, most recently in 2019 to tennis star Novak Djokovic.

For Marquez, this is his💮 sꦍecond nomination, having been nominated alongside Hamilton back in 2015 when the pair again lost out to Djokovic.

Both will be aiming to become t💯he first motorsport personality to win the award since Sebastian Vettel in ﷽2014, who picked up the gong off the back of his fourth F1 world title win the previous year.

Mercedes has been nominated in the Team of the Year category alongside Liverpool FC, the Toronto Raptors basketball squad, South Africa’s Rugby World Cup-winning squad, the Spain men’s basketball team and the United States♔’ women’s football team. Mercedes won the award in 2018.

There is further motorsport presence in the form of Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch, who has been nominated for Comeback of the Year after her return to racing following the accident at M𓂃acau in 2018.
