Sauber confirmed on Saturday at a launch event it woul𒁏d be retaining Marcus Ericsson alongside the incoming Ferrari youngster a♑nd Formula 2 champion Charles Leclerc in 2018, leaving the Italian marque's other hopeful, Antonio Giovinazzi, to tꦿake up a third driver role.
Ericsson has not scored any points⛎ in F1 since 2015, yet has been kept on in favour of previous teammates Felipe Nasr and Pascal Wehrlein amid reported links to the team's owners.
Was Sauber right to keep Ericsson on for another year? He had one of the tightest head-to-head comparisons in F1 last season against Wehrlein, yet scored five f♕ewer points. Has he shown enough signs of improvement to warrant another year?
