Reigning Worꦉld Supersport champion Lucas Mahias has picked up where he left off from the 2018 opener by topping the first practice session in Thailand with Yamaha riders locking out the top three spots on the timesheet.

The GRT Yamaha rider produced an impressive 1m 37.469s as riders got up to speed at the Buriram circuit to set the standard over three-tenths of a second ahead of Bardahl Evan Bros. Yamaha’s Randy Krummenacher. Mahias’ teammate Federico Caricasulo slots into third, albeit 0.750s off h🌳is fellow GRT Yamaha rider, while An🎀thony West led the charge for Kawasaki in fourth place.

Kenan Sofuoglu is out of action for the second round of the season due to his injury sustained at Phillip Island and he has been replaced by Azlan Shah at Puccetti Kawasaki who enjoyed a solid start to his race weekend in 11^th place.

Luke Staplefor♕d leads the Profile Racing Triumph charge in fifth place ahead of Kallio Racing Yamaha’s Sandro Cortese who impressed on his World Supersport ꧂debut with third place in Australia.

Raffaell🦹e De Rosa was another to enjoy a solid start in Thailand with seventh place for MV Agusta as Jules Cluzel (NRT Yamaha), Hik🍒ari Okubo (Puccetti Kawasaki) and Niki Tuuli (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) rounded out the top 10.
