Peugeot links up with Rebellion for WEC Hypercar program

Peugeot has announced ⛄a new partnership with Rebellion Racing for its new Hypercar program in the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2022.

Peugeot confirme🥂d last month that it would be returning to the top tier of sports car racing in 2022 via the new Hypercar regulations that will replace LꦰMP1 as the WEC’s top tier from the 2020-21 season.

The French manufacturer issued a statement🔯 on Wednesday confirming it would be working with existing LMP1 squad Rebellion Racing for its program.

Peugeot has announced a new partnership with Rebellion Racing for its new 𒆙Hypercar program in the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2022.

Peugeot confirmed last month that it would be returning to the top tier of sports car racing in 2022 via the new Hypercar regulatiไons that will replace LMP1 as the WEC’s top tier from the 2020-21 season.

The French manufacturer issued a statement on Wednesday confirming it would be working with existing LMP1 squad Rebel🐲lion Racing for its program.

“Peugeot and Rebellion are pleased to announce that they will be joining force♓s to tackle the challenges of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours,” the statement reads.

“From 2022, the two com🐎panies will focus their shared passion for racing, their respective success in the discipline and their sporting and technological pedigrees on contesting world class endu⭕rance racing’s Hypercar class using hybrid power.

“In January 2020🍎, the technical squad will lay down the project’s main lines, as Peugeot Sport and Rebellion Racing put the team into place.”

“The program will kic▨k off in 2022 and we are extremely happy to be teaming up with one of endurance racing’s big names,” said Peugeot motorsport chief Jean-Marc Finot.

“Rebellion Racing’s experience of the FIA WEC will be a big asset as we put together the strongest possible team for our program, and this was corr♑oborated by the team’s recent victory in Shanghai.

“The roles will b♔e divided as a function of our respective competencies and all of us wi🍎ll be based at Versailles-Satory.”

Rebellion president Ale꧋xandre Pesci added: “I believe that the 🐻passion of our two companies speaks for us as a common and simple language.

“Together, we are going to build a car and team to co🔯mpete in what promises to be a fiercely-contested championship as we seek to begin a successful record together.”

The Peug🀅eot-Rebellion project will join Toyota and Aston Martin in the WEC’s Hyperca𝐆r class from 2022.
