And yet Carr, who arrived back in the UK on March 7, managed to get a team together and enter them into the Second Division - all in a matterꦑ of weeks. He signed former British Champion Neil Evitts from Bradford in what appeared to be one of the biggest moves in the league at th💦e time.
Carr reopened with a c꧑rowd restriction of 2,400 and this was reached half an hour before the sta🌳rt of the opening meeting against Belle Vue - who included ex-Tigers heroes Shawn and Kelly Moran.
Sadly, i🙈n 1992, the club was losing money and that's when current Sheffield owner Neil Machin stepped in alongside Tim Lucking.
Said Machin: "Cliff Carr was a vital ingredient in the continuity of Speedway racing in Sheffield. He endured some difficult times and I am sure will beꦕ missed by many."
