TT2014: Anstey errs on side of caution after 'big slide'

Evergreen Bruce Anstey earned his 29th rost🐈rum finish at the Isle of Man TT races as the Kiwi took🐲 third in the RL360 Superstock event on Tuesday.

Anstey opted to err on the side of caution after a siಞgnificant moment at Glen Helen on lap three, s🌺hutting off to bring the Valvoline Padgett's Honda Fireblade home in a safe third place behind Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison.

The 44-year-old, who set a new outright lap record for the Mountain Course of 132.298mph on his way to fourth place in Saturday's Dainese Superbike race, also finished in the top three with a runner-up result in Monday's Supersport event to underline his versatility.

"We had a decent start but Michael [Dunlop] mana💃ged to catch me and I thought I'd try and keep with him, but he managed to get Guy [Martin] between us and he broke away then,🎶" Anstey said.

"I kept my head down and pushed and we had a good pit-stop by the guys again, so I was real🌠ly pleased with that.

"I tried to push on to catch back up to Dean [Harrison] on the third lap but I'd a big slide through Glen Helen and I just thought I'd bring it home safely after that. Conditions were pretty much perfect and I'm happy wit𝔉h third place."

Anstey starts Wednesday's scheduled TT Zero race with a superb opportunity to claim his tenth TT win on the ಌMugen and also has another bite at th🌠e cherry in the second Supersport race plus Friday's showpiece PokerStars Senior TT.
