Germany's Sachsenring extends MotoGP contract until 2026

The Sachsenring will continue to host the German r𒆙ound of the MotoGP world championship until at least 2026, following a contract extension with Dorna.
The circuit has been part of the MotoGP calendar since 19🦂98 and, pre-Covid♛, was one of the few venues to top 200,000 weekend fans.
The German event was among those drop♍ped from the shortened 2020 line-up while the 2021 round, on June 18-20, will be held behind closed doors.
"In these difficult times, it was important for us to lay the foundations for this in good time, and to give the Sachsenri🌜ng – a Mecca for motorcycles – a long-term prospect," said ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk.
"MotoGP aꦬt the Sachsenring has been a highlight of the season for motorcycle fans for a long time and is an established major event on the sporting calendar in Germany."
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, added: "We are very proud to announce the Sach⛦senring will remain part of the MotoGP calendar for a further five years.
"꧅The German Grand Prix is a huge event for motorsport in the area, region and country, and Germany has a long and rich history within motorcycle raci𒉰ng.
"It’s a vital stop♔ on our calendar and we’re delighted to secure the future of the event, returning to the unique Sachsenring un⛎til at least 2026."
