The latest official update on the condition of MotoGP team principal Fausto Gresini paints a worrying picture, ▨with his 'clinical picture critical' after 'complications'.

The 60-year-old Italian, who has been using a🍬 mechanical respirator thro💖ughout, is also back in a medically-induced coma.

However, writing on Facebook, his son Lorenzo explained that the complications described🌠 in the update released by the team refers to events "between Friday and Saturday" and "since that time the conditions have remained almost unchanged".

This is the statement from Dr Nicola Cilloni of Bologna’s ‘Carlo Alberto Pizzardi’ hospital, where Gresini has been in intens🧔ive care, battling severe respiratory problems caused by Covid-19, since December 27:

"Fausto Gresini is still hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Bologna’s Maggiore Hospital due to a persisting severe respiratory insufficiency following a Covid🥂-19 infection.

"Unfortunately, complications have occurred, which made the current cli﷽nical picture critical.

"🌜The hospital staff are continuing the treatment with the highest-possible intensity, with the hope of a recovery of the organ functionality – which has been severely compromised.

"He is still🌳 supported by a meᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚchanical respirator and in a medically-induced coma.”
