The Suzuki rider crashed late on during the post-Czech Republic MotoGP test last Monday and suffered bruising to his lungs having been transported by helicopter from t♎he track’s medical centre to Brno Hospit🧸al.
The MotoGP rookie spent three days in hospital before being flown to another hospital in Barc🍌elona last Friday as he missed the Austrian round.
Following medical tests run today, the 21-year-old has been released from hospital to recover at home under supervisio🌃n before further checks back in hospital next week.
It remains uncertain if the Spanish rider will be fit for the British round at Silverstone (August 23-25). Mir’s team-mat🐠e Alex Rins took on the Red Bull Ring race as the sole Suzuki rider last weekend and finished in sixth place.
“Upon his arrival at the Dexeus University Hospital [in Barcelona], his treatment was supervised by Dr. An💧gel Charte’s medical team,” a Suzuki statement read. “Dr Charte is the MotoGP World Championsh𝓰ip Doctor and Head of the Internal Medicine Unit at the Dexeus Hospital.
“After extensive tests, including several CT scans, the group of doctꦰors detected that the l𒈔ung still had inflammation due to the large amount of bruising.
“They therefore decided to keep him in and give him daily checks to expedite his recovery and 🐼avoid possi༺ble complications.
“Four days later𝓡, the same medical team have decided, after a las🔜t round of tests that revealed an improvement, to let Joan go home - where he will continue to rest until another medical check next week at the same hospital.”
After Mir undergoes next week’s medical tests in hospital it will become clearer if he will be fit enough to return to action at Silverstone or skip a second round to target a🌠 comeback at the San Marino MotoGP at Misano (September 13-15).
