Jorge Viegas elected as FIM President

 

Jorge Viegas has been elected a🉐s FIM President to take over 𒁏from Vito Ippolito following the latest FIM Annual General Assembly in Andorra.

Viegas will step up from his former FIM Vice President role to rep൩lace the outgoing Ippolito with the Portuguese a former 250cc Grand Pr🐠ix rider calling the role “a lifelong achievement”.

Jorge Viegas has been elected as FIM Presiden⭕t to take over from Vito Ipཧpolito following the latest FIM Annual General Assembly in Andorra.

Viega🃏s will step up from his former 𝕴FIM Vice President role to replace the outgoing Ippolito with the Portuguese a former 250cc Grand Prix rider calling the role “a lifelong achievement”.

After his racing career ended Viegas worked as a jour🐼nalist before helping found the Portuguese Foundation in 1990 and also went on to bꦛecome President of Estoril Circuit.

Viegas has already served a number of roles within the FI🌜M, starting as a Member and President of the FIM Promotion Commission in 1992 before being appointed FIM Vice President between 1996 and 2014.

“I am truly honoured to be elected to the position of༒ FIM President,” Viegas said. “It is a lifelong achieveಌment for me to see my passion for motorcycling develop into a role that can allow me to make a positive impact on the sport.

“I have spent many years working for and witဣh the FIM and I a▨m looking forward to a bright future together.

“We took very♏ important and courageous decisions in our first Board of Directors. We are going in the right direction, putting the National Federations, the Continental Unions and the Commissions in the centre of the decisions.”

Viegas will also bꦿecome the acting CEO of the FIM Commissions Conference from February 2019.
