Raul Fernandez putꩲ in a faultless ride to claim victory at the Austrian Moto2, while Remy Gardner lost all opportunity of the podium due to being pushed wide at turn one.

With his MotoGP future sorted for 2022꧙, Fernandez got back down to business afterꦜ a tough Styrian GP by leading all but three laps during Sunday’s race.

Fernandez came under i🐼ntense pressure from Ai Ogura just past mid-race distance, however, the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider showed his class to eventually pull clear with two laps remaining.

"I am very happy, since in addition to the victory we have picked up some important points for the championship,” said Fernandez. &nb𓄧sp;

"There are still many races to go and we have to keep pushin♌g as we did so far. Last weekend was tough for us, but this time around the t𒉰eam gave me the best possible bike to be able to fight for this great result.

"I was feeling mental꧒ly st🎉rong today. I want to thank my entire team and my family. I dedicate this win to Hugo [Millan], and to his entire family and loved ones."

Teaꦉm-mate and championship leader Gardner had similar pace throughout the race to Fernandez, but was unable to use it after being caught up in a turn one incident.

Through no fault of his own the Australian was forced wide which pushed him doꦿwn to 11th plac𒊎e.

Gardner put in a solid 🌊recovery ride to finish seventh and limit what could have been a much bigger points swing to Fernandez.

"It was a tough day for us. We didn't get a good start, and when I reached the first corner I had✨ to pick the bike up to avoid crashing and🥂 colliding with other riders," added Gardner.

"That mad🍌e me lose a lot of positioꦅns and, with the high temperatures that we had today, it was very difficult to regain them.

"I did everything I could, and we ha🐻ve salvaged a few points, but now we are𓃲 already thinking about the next race."
