Machitski gets taste of GT1.

Reigning British GT3 champion Leo Machitski made the step up to GT1 when⛄ he tested Barwell Motorsport's As꧅ton Martin DBR9 at Guadix circuit in Spain in preparation for a possible step up in 2007.

The 24-year old won the British crown aboard a Barwell-run Aston Martin and is looking at moving up to the GT2 and GT1 classes this year. With Barwell having collected its ex-factory𓄧 DBR9 from Aston Martin Racing recently, car and driver were put together at the new🌺-look Guadix facility near Granada, where factory driver Darren Turner was on hand to give Machitski some pointers.

"We had a fantastic first test with the DBR9," commented Barwell's Chris Needell,💧 "Leo did a brilliant job for his first run in a GT1 car, and the car ran like clockwork."

The Surrey-based team is currently speaking to drivers about programmes in either the FIA GT Championship or Le Mans Series in Europe, and Machitski is in the frame to continue his⭕ successful relationship with Barwell in a selected LMS GT1 programme. Barwell will continue its GT1 test programme at Snetterton next month.
