Jack Doohan made his full-time F1 debut with Alpine in 20🐻25 after earning a promotion from his role as t🅠est and reserve driver.
But Jack, the son of motorcycle legend Mick Doohan, endured a tough first s🍃ix grands prix where he failed to score a point.
Alpine's Flavio Briatore therefore made t🍃he call to replace Doohan with reserve drivꦬer Franco Colapinto, swapping their roles.
Doohan had been plagued all year by rumours that Colapinto would inherit his race seat - and th♋ey became true.
Doohan’s career in motorsport was kickstarted by a kart gifted꧂ to him by seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher. After finishing as runner-up in the F3 Asian Championship, Doohan made the step up to Formula 3 - two steps below F1.
The Australian finished as runner-up in 2021 following a poor rookie campaign, earning him a promotion to F2. Doohan showed flashes of immense💦 pace throughout his two years in F2, taking six victories, but he was unable to challenge for the title.
After impressing Alpine in his role as their test and reser♏ve driver, Doohan was handed his F1 debut at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, having signed for the team as Esteban Ocon’s replacement for 2025.
