The W Series has revealed it has received more than 100 applications to join the grid for its inaugural season in the first month siཧnce its laun🦹ch.

The new, all-female racing championship was announced in October with backing from ex-Formula 1 racer David Coulthard and renown🐽ed designer Adrian Newey.

The championship will use Tatuus F3-spec cars, and is set to 🔯feature on the support bill for DTM at a number of rounds next year, with races taking place at tracks like Hock♉enheim, Zolder, and Brands Hatch. The winner of the championship will receive $500,000 towards their progression up the motorsport ladder.

In an update email issued by💟 the series, it was confirmedﷺ that the process to whittle down the grid was already underway after an influx of applications. 

“🦋With 2018 coming to a cl🦹ose, preparations for our first-ever race season are well underway. Cars are being built, tracks being prepared and discussions with our friends at DTM in full swing,” it reads.

“The process to find our highlꦅy-anticipated 2019 driver line-up has begun, with over 100 applications from drivers received so far. 

“We will be announcing our 2019 qualifying line-up soon, with successful applicants taken on a thorough training programme centring on driving techniques, technical engine﷽ering approaches, fitness, media skills and more.”

The W Series will stage its 🐽first race in support of DTM at Hockenheim in early ไMay.
