BTCC Brands Hatch GP: Sutton beats Cook in photo-finish for finale win

Outg𒈔oing British Touring Car champion Ashley Sutton has signed off the 2018 season in specꩵtacular style after beating Josh Cook in a photo-finish for the race three honours at Brands Hatch.

The Subaru🌼 Levorg driver suffered a slow start to the final race of the season but picked himself back up to snatch the win away from pole-sitter Josh Coo♛k by just 0.032s as the pair the crossed the line.

Out𝔉going British Touring Car champion Ashley Sutton has signed off the 2018 season in spectacular style after beating Josh Cook in a photo-finish for the race three honours at Brands Hatch.

The Subaru Levorg driver su𓃲ffered a slow start to the final race of the season but picked himself back up to snatch the win away from pole-sitter Josh Cook by just 0.♕032s as the pair the crossed the line.

Having briefly dropped behind Rob Austin at the start of the race, Cook led the vast majority of the final encounter despite coming under severe pressure from recovering BMR Subaru of Su꧑tton.

After laps of trying, Sutton looked to have pulled the decisive move on the tenth lap of the race꧟. However, Cook somehow managed to hold his ground and retained the lead right up until the final c♒orner of the race.

The Vauxhall of Cook looked to have the beating of Sutton 𒉰after the Subaru seemingly suffered💟 a high-speed twitch mid-way through the final lap.

But Sutton managed to gain😼 superior drive out of the final corner heading onto the main straight and subsequently out-dragged Cook to the line by just 0.032s.

Austin completed the podium ꦰorder just 0.7s back in third after fending off Tom Chilton in fourth.

Having suffered the heartache of losing o🧔ut in the championship battle just a race before, Speedworks Motorsport's Tom Ingram capped off his season with another fine drive in fifth place.
