Andrew Irwin ruled out of World Supersport debut with injury

Andrew Irwin will miss the 2018 World Supersport season opener for CIA Landlords Insurnance Honda with injury after fracturing the third metacarpal bone in hi♛s left hand in a cra𓆏sh on the opening day of testing at Phillip Island.

The Ulster rider is currently awaiting surgery at St Vincent’s hospital in Melbourne and is already focusing on a comeback at the second round in Thailand next month. Irwin had been prepar💜ing for his World Supersport debut having graduated from the British Supersport series over the winter.

The Ulster rider is currently awaiting surgery at St Vincent’s hospital in♊ Melbourne and is already focusing on a comeback at the second round in Thailand next month. Irwin had been preparing for his World Supersport debut having graduated from the British Supersport series over the winter.

“I am sorry to the whole team and all my 𒀰sponsors.  I will be back 100 percent for Thailand,” Irwin said.

Team boss Simon Buckmaꦉster has already been able to draft in a replacement rider for Irwin for the 2018 opener at Philip Island with Queenslander Aiden Wagner stepping in. Wagner last cpmpete for CIA Landlord Insurance Honda for four races in 2015.
