JJ Leh😼to has been acquitted of drink driving over a boating accident back in 2010 that killed one of his friend.
The🥂 former F1 driver was sentenced to two yeaꦕrs and four months in prison last year by a district court, which found him guilty on evidence that suggested he was in control of the boat when it crashed into a bridge.
Lehto launched an appeal against the sentence, with a court of appeal hearing ruling that it꧂ couldn't be proven if he was in fact behind the wheel at the time the accident occurred.
T💃he 46-year-old drove in F1 from 1989 to 1994, taking a best finish of third in the 1991 San Marino Grand Prix, and then went on to compete in the Le Mansไ 24 Hours, where he took overall victory in both 1995 and 2005.
