Audi's Mike Rockenfeller has suffered a small metatarsal fracture to his left foot following an incident which took him out of today's second Norisri🐼ng DTM race.

Audi Sport confirmed on its Twitt🗹er page that Rockenfeller suffered a small fractureꦛ of the fifth metatarsal bone on his left foot.

The Team Phoenix driver was n𓆉egotiating the Grundig Hairpin when Gary Paffett's severely damaged Mercedes C63 slammed straight into the side of Rockenfeller's🥃 Audi RS 5.

Paffett ☂had lost control of his Mercedes whilst battling with Audi's Jamie Green and made heavy contact with Armco barrier heading towards the hairpin as a result.

Catastrophic damage to his car meant Paffett was powerless 🎃in aꦯvoiding Rockenfeller just seconds later.

The pair emerged from the wreckage of their own accord but Rockenf🉐eller immediately displayed discomfort with his left foot after hoppiꦜng to the Ambulance.

Both ♛were taken to the Klinikum S?d Hospital in Nuremberg for examination.

Describing the incident, Paffett has expressed his best wishes to Rockenfeller: "That was a bad smash, but💦 I'm fine. I'm sorry that Rocky got hit and injured as a result. I hope he'll get well soon.

"My special thanks go to all the medics - both at the racetrack and in the hospital. They took excel൩lent care of me...ꦍ"
