Chevrolet are set to 💎give the full 2007 specification Chevrolet Lacetti its race debut as the World Touring Car Championship𝓡 resumes this weekend at Zandvoort.

The team secured a best finish of fifth in the season opener in Brazil thanks to Rob Huff, before continuing with an extensive testing programme aimed a𝐆t improving the Lacetti packag🔯e.

Those tests were rewarded with the quickest time at Oschersleben for Swiss star Alai𒅌n Menu, with the team now in a pos🉐ition to run the car in its full 2007 specification for the first time.

"For the first time we will run our cars in full 2007 specifications," team manager Mark Busfield said. "Other than the revised front aero, the cars will also sport updated air intake and plenum and a revised suspension set up. All the drivers have now had many, many kilometres in the new spec cars and encouraged by our pace at thꦿe recent tests, we are hopeful for some strong results at Zandvoort."

With Menu and Nicola Larini unable to score points at Curitiba, Briton Huff leads the Chevrolet challenge into the European season, and he admitteꩵd the new Lacetti was an improvement over the car it replaces, the very car that carried him to his maiden WTCC win last season at Brno.

"The car is much more responsive to changes than last year, so that is a nice feeling to have as a driver," he said. "In the past we always struggled at Oschersleben but now in the test we managed to find a good set-up straight away and work from there. The circuit of Zandvoort should suit us, it's a real driver's track. If we can make it through the first corner we should 🧔be aiming for some serioꦜus point scoring in both races."
