Newly crowned Intercontinental Rally Challenge titlౠe winner Kris Meeke has been excluded from the results of the season-ending Rally of Scotland.

Meeke had taken victory in the event at thಌe wheel of 🌳his Peugeot UK entered Peugeot 207 S2000 after an event-long battle with the Skoda of Guy Wilks, but post-event checks raised question marks over the legality of the front subframe on the car.

The suspect part has now undergone a series of further checks which have revealed that it was below the minimum weight required, with the dec👍ision taken to exclude Meeke as a result.

The Kronos-run team will not appeal the decision, which has no 🃏bearing on the IRC title race with Meeke having been crowned champion prior to the season finale.

"After due deliberation, the stewards noted that Peugeot UK and Peugeot Sport admitted a lack of control in the manufacture of this subframe," a statement read. "The stewards also re🔴cognised that there was no fraudulent intent on the part of the entrant or manufacturer.

"The stewards decide to exclude competitor #1 from the event in accordance with article 158 of the 2009 FIA International Sporting Code owing to non-conformity♏ with the relevant FIA homol♚ogation paper."
