RBF set for Goodwood appearance

The Richard Burns Foundation to celebrate the late WRC title winner with a unique display at Goodwood
Richard Burns Foundation set for Goodwood

The Richard Burns Foundation will once more be an official charity of the Goodwood Festival of Sp♚eed, which takes place from Thꦉursday July 1 to Sunday July 4.

A centrepiece of the RBF presence will be the Richard Burns Foundation Collection: a museum of mostly unseen personal effects belonging to Richard that will be displayed together for the first time. They provide a fascinating and uniquely individual glimpse into the life of both the man and the rally driver, forming a moving👍 yet compelling tribute.

Among the many items on display will be some model cars that Richard built when he was a child, his favourite cufflinks, the T-shirt he wore on the night that he celebrated winning the 2001 world rally 🧔title and the actual trophy he received from the FI🤪A at the end of that momentous season.

"We've tried to put together a series of things that meant something to Richard and also say something about him," Burns' long-term girlfriend Zoe Scott, who is now actively involved in running the RBF, said. "A lot of this is just everyday stuff, like his favourite sunglasses, and there are other things that were really valuable to him, 🤡like his trophies, but together they paint a real picture of the special person that Richard was, both on rallies and away from them."

The Richard Burns Foundation Collection will be housed in the RBF stand in the Goodwood paddock. Admission is free, but we would ask for donations that will go directly to support people who are ill with brain cancer or other neu🍃rological disorders.

Outsid𓂃e the stand there will be some of Richard's most famous cars, including of course the 2001 title-winning Subaru Impreza.

As well as the Richard Burns Foundation Collection, there will be question ꦉand answer sessions conducted regularly outside the RBF stand, hosted by television presenter Neil Cole. Among the stars turning up will be Richard's co-driver Robert Reid and motors♔port legend John Surtees: the only person to win a world championship on both two wheels and four.

Visitors will also be able to play the famous Richard Burns Rally game, in a simulator experience hosted joinﷺtly with Colin McRae Vision, which will be present at an adjacent stand. There will alsoꦬ be a raffle to win a signed Fender Telecaster guitar, which will be autographed by a number of the leading drivers and VIPs present at the Festival of Speed.

Away from the RBF stand, Ken Block and Freddy Loix will be raising ♐funds for the RBF by providing high-speed passenger rides in their Ford Focus WRC and Skoda Fabia S2000 respectively on the♋ venue's Forest Rally Stage and famous hillclimb course.
