ඣDanny Buchan has issued an apology after enduring a devastating MCE British Superbike season༺ opener suffering two DNFs at Donington Park.

The 21-year-old rider underwent a particularly bumpy BSB debut with Be Wiser Kawasaki, cr🧸ashing on three different occasions over the race weekend, including the two which ended his hopes of finishing in the points.

In race one he impressively fought his way up to fifth position and while battling with St🦹uart Easton and Dan Linfoot the Be Wiser Kawasaki rider was unseated at the Foggy Esses on lap 11.

Looking to make amends in the second race, Buchan forced himself into the top ten before hitting the deck with four laps remaining to bring an premature end to his weekend. The young rider says he needs to look over his races and pick apart why it wen💛t so wrong from a promising position.

"I can't begin to say how disappointed I am not just for myself but all the Be Wiser Kawasaki team," Buchan said. "I am sorry I have let them down and I need to go away from here, sit down and re-evaluate everything and comeꦦ to Brands more focussed and with some realistic goals.

"We had th꧋e pace at the start of the weekend and into qualifying and we just need to slowly chip away. I lost a lot of the second session after my crash and it was vital track time that I needed."

Despite being thoroughly downbeat, Buchan was left encouraged by his Kawasaki ZX-10R's race pace and is hopeful to make up for his mistakes in two weeks' time for the second round at Brands Hatc🦋h.

"The bike really did feel go♌od and I know I can get good results but I need to remind myself it's a long season and I hope to get on the points board at Brands," he said. "𓆏I can't thank my team enough for the work they put in this weekend I'm sorry I let the side down."
