Nissan revealed its ‘kimino-inspired’ ⭕Gen2 season six challenger at its Yokohama headquarters in Japan.ꦕ The unveiling came just days after the conclusion of pre-season testing, with Nissan running an all-black livery throughout the three-days of running at Valencia.

The Japanese manufacturer says the new design for its Nissan IM02 car was ♈selected from nearly 40 concept submissions and celebraꦯtes the country’s heritage.

Explaining ꧂the colour scheme, Nissan’s senior vice president for global design, Alfonso Albaisa, said: “As we approach the beginning of our second season of Formula E competition, our design team proposed a new look, oneꩵ that celebrates our Japanese heritage and vibrant technology DNA.

“We used our iconic Nissan racing red, black and white colours layered diagonally in a kimono pattern, which creates a🌟 dynamic and powerful impression.”

Having taken over e.dams operation, Nissan ended its inaugural campaign as a manufacturer entry fourth in the teams’ cham𓆏pionship, with Sebastien Buemi picking up a breakthrough victory in New York on his way to sealing runner-up spot in the drivers’ standings.

The Swiss driver and season two champion will once again be partnered by Oliver Rowlan♔d, who impressed in his rookie FE campaign, claiming two p🦩ole positions and two podium finishes.

“The second season is sometimes h🤪arder than the first,” said Ni𒊎ssan’s global motorsports director Michael Carcamo.

“With a major change to a single-motor solut✃ion, we had plenty to do in the off-season. We'll use everything we learned from season five to improve our package, with an even greater emphasis on battery and energy management."
